Girl With Cancer Hated Doctors But Dentist’s Hilarious Disguise Works Like A Charm.

No one likes going to the dentist. But those visits are a little easier to swallow when the tooth fairy makes a cameo appearance.

Everyone knows the anxiety of heading off to the dentist for a tooth cleaning or to get a cavity filled. But young Sariah’s anxiety is especially high because she’s been battling cancer, and although it’s in remission, all those medical appointments have left a bad taste in her mouth when it comes to doctors.

So you can imagine the growing knot in Sariah’s (pictured above, middle) stomach as her mom, Tiama Parker, made their way to Family Dental of Shawnee for an appointment with Dr. Robert Simpson.

We’re guessing there are a lot of dentists out there who try to inject some humor into the situation by telling their young patients, “I’m the tooth fairy!” Some go-getters probably even throw some glitter around to add some authenticity to the whole act. But this guy took it up several notches. Sariah didn’t believe him, so he pulled a Clark Kent move and disappeared for a few minutes. When he returned?

That worked about as well as a shot of laughing gas! Sariah, of course, broke into a wide grin, which made it that much easier to get at those pearly whites…

His little fairy wings were an especially nice touch, don’t you agree?

But Robert apparently isn’t the only one who has a secret identity. This office must have an entire closet filled with tutus, tiaras and wands, because the day after Tiama posted about her daughter’s appointment, this picture popped up on the Family Dental of Shawnee Facebook page:

If you are among the people who can’t be sedated or take shots of nitrous oxide for whatever reason, this is clearly the next best solution.

GREAT WORK, DENTIST! A mother says a Shawnee dentist did a great job helping her daughter, who is in remission after battling cancer and is afraid of doctors.
